Wielton S.A. with its headquarters in Wieluń is the largest Polish manufacturer of semi-trailers, trailers and car bodies. The company, which is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, is one of the industry’s three largest manufacturers in Europe, and among its top ten global players. Wielton's clients include transportation, construction, production, distribution and agricultural companies. The Wielton Group has two production centres, in Poland and in France, as well as two assembly plants, in Italy and Russia. At the end of 2016, Wielton launched a subsidiary in Côte d'Ivoire, where, as the first European manufacturer it will establish a road semi-trailer assembly plant.
The Group currently employs approximately 2,500 workers, of which most of them, 1,400, are in Wieluń. The manufacturer also provides service support to its customers, allowing drivers to choose from over 200 service points in 18 European countries. In 2016 Wielton opened the Research and Development Centre in Wieluń. Investment in research and development is an important element of the company’s strategy. The company already collaborates with institutes and universities in Poland and abroad, and the Research and Development Centre has the only in Poland (and only one of two in Europe) full vehicle testing station for semi-trailers, which allows to detect potential defects already at the stage of vehicle testing. The offer of the Wielton Group expands every year and includes new products. Customers can choose from 15 groups of vehicles, available in 800 configurations. The strength of the Group is its consistently implemented strategy, based on organic development and acquisitions. In May 2017, the Group took over the German company Langendorf, thanks to which it expanded its offer to include, among others, specialised vehicles for the transport of glass and precast concrete.
